We were lucky enough to get away to the coast for the weekend. Friday when we arrived the weather was so bad you couldn't set foot outside but Saturday was cloudy and Sunday sunny and so we filled our weekend full of firsts for Lily.

Many long walks on the beach. I forgot the backpack so we huffed Lily in our arms on hikes we couldn't take the stroller, doesn't seem like much until you carry around 22 pounds that squirms for a long day:)

We took her to my favorite spot, Strawberry Hill. Otters, seals, anenomes, starfish abound. This was the first coast trip that I wasn't climbing and hiking over every rock and beach, instead I did a lot more reflecting and appreciating from afar. It was an exercise in patience, difficult but well worth it all for this baby girl.

We of course had to take her to Colin's favorite spot -The Rogue Brewery (great large brewery for all you east coasters). We sampled great beer and sat and ate great food with a window table overlooking a beautiful marina. Lily and I had quinoa salad and she loved it, obviously because it is all over her face. Colin was in beer heaven.

To get into the tasting room you tour through the brewery. We figured we should start teaching her at a young age.

She walked as much as she possibly could this weekend. She loved the sand, mostly wanting to dance on it when you put her down. We took her for a her first swim in the pool as well, though she liked the swim she really enjoyed watching the other kids more. When they would glance her way she would squeal and give them the biggest smile. It was so sad because they never even noticed her and she was so excited to be with them. Yet another feeling as a parent I will likely never fully come to terms with.

What beauty in all of you. We feel your love for all that you so enjoy in Oregon...and that you celebrate with Lily. No wonder her spirit dances and her every picture is so Joy-full...she has terrific parents guiding her, teaching her, loving Life with her.
