Hiking

We had the opportunity to get out of dodge for part of Sunday last weekend. We went hiking at a local state park with 10 different waterfalls, the tallest at 177 ft and 3 falls you can walk behind. Here is Colin and Lillian behind the tallest falls. This was Lily's first time in the backpack and she loved.

Daddy loved it too, especially when it came time to hike the last mile up hill.

You can walk behind this one......

and this one.

After the hike we had a little car picnic. (No she did not eat all of those beans and peas.)

Happy Valentine's Day

Thanks Marmie and Poppie for the great Valentine's Day outfit, it was the talk of the daycare.

9 months old

Lillian had her 9 month birthday last Thursday and then her 9 mo check-up on Friday. She now weighs 21 pounds 10 ounces (89th%tile), is 27.5 inches long (48th%tile) and has a head circumference of 18 inches (90th%tile). Her pediatrician commented on what a great demeanor she had and she passed most of her first standardized test with flying colors (just a standardized questionnaire that the parent fills out based on what your baby can and can't do with fine motor, gross motor, behavioral and problem solving- the ASQ for all of my pediatric PT friends). All and all a very health baby girl that is a little slow on the crawling band-wagon and has a big head because she is so smart.

The other crazy thing that happened on Friday was that she awoke with 1 new canine tooth and the second one was just starting to poke out today. So what is weird about this is she doesn't have any of her other top teeth and she awoke making a new hissing/crackly sound that is not far off from a vampire sound - if vampires really existed. So now I have an adorable vampire baby:)

Cutest thing ever. She entertained herself in front of the mirror going between these 3 poses and talking and smiling to herself for 30 minutes. I should have taken the opportunity to get a few things around the house done but instead I just sat and watched and smiled.

The Butte

Lillian has officially made it up the butte equally the amount of times she has made it to King Estates Winery. She is getting a bit heavier and so it took us a tad bit longer to get to the top. She had a great time and didn't even fuss after being in the ergo carrier for such a long hike.

Seriously? Need I say more.

Katie and Geoff had us over for the Super Bowl. We had a great time with good food! The kids all made it. Quinn (10 mo) took her first 6 step succession while we were all watching, it was so cool to see what Lillian will be doing in just a matter of months.

Harper is army crawling and it is a matter of days or hours before he will be on a full crawling sprint.

So sweet. They all loved being together just as much as the adults.

Playing with the flower

I am unable to post this video on the blog so it is on You Tube. It is sideways so sorry about
that but she just learned to take apart this toy and it
is so sweet.
Copy and paste this as the url to see this adorable little girl.

Is this enough purple?

I know I say this all of the time but she has had such an adorable week this week. She has fed herself like a pro. She actually sits in her high chair with her mouth open and puts in one hand of food after another. We tried peas the other night and she kept putting them in without chewing (eek) and then adding more and every time she would open her mouth to put more peas in a bunch would fall out. Needless to say she is no longer eating peas on her own but she is eating beans, avocado, blueberries, and cereal all by herself. She also also started cheering with us when we celebrate when she has done something good. I have yet to capture it on video but please stay tuned.

A very tired Chev.
