Sweetest little girl

We had a friend do a little photo shoot at 5 days old. So here are a few from that day.
This last week has been an amazing week of learning and adoring this new little addition to our family. She continues to make the cutest little squeaks and coos and she loves to sleep in our arms. We have been so blessed by so many great friends dropping off food, snacks, supplies, walking Roxie and offering great advice.

39 weeks and now a new born baby

Lillian Quinn Simpson, born 5/10/2010 at 9:04 am, 8 pounds 6 oz, 19.5 inches long.

One big happy family. We are so blessed and amazed by this little life. We had such an amazing experience at the hospital and are greatful for so much these days.

Lillian slept with me every night and she always ended up with her arms up by her face. It was so amazing.

Squishiest, cutest baby in dad's hands.

She is missing some hair up front because of her position in my ribs throughout pregnancy. Otherwise she has so much hair.

As they are suturing me up Colin brought her right to me and she opened her eyes for the first time when she heard my voice.

Last belly shot before surgery.

39 weeks. It is the weirdest feeling knowing that the very next day you will be holding a little one in your arms.

38 weeks

Over the last week we learned the first few things about our daughter. First of all Colin thinks she is like me and is very stubborn and I of course think she gets it from Colin and second of all she is like Colin in the morning because once she is in a cozy place she is not moving, no matter the force! We tried many things to help her to turn last week including a version which was no fun to say the least and of course to no avail- hence the stubborn and comfortable reference. So as a result this little one is scheduled to make her arrival 5/10/2010 at 8:30 am. We are very excited and are in a mode of preparation.

37 weeks

37 weeks and a few changes. We had an ultrasound on Monday and learned that our little girl is frank breech, or butt down, head, feet and arms up. We are trying a few things to change the situation to avoid a c-section. I was happy to find out that everything else looked healthy but saddened and disappointed at the possibility of a c-section. So for now I am on modified bed rest, which for all of you who know me so well is killing me:)

Here comes the overly dramatic mushy new mom stuff so if you can't stomach it please skip this section: A very blurry picture of a picture of a 3-D ultrasound. I couldn't resist trying to get it on here. Colin was unable to make the appointment and so I learned that in fact we do have the most beautiful little girl in the world. I couldn't ask any questions through the entire ultrasound because I was so mesmerized by her. She has a very full head of Nye hair - you can see that in the upper right corner. In the upper left is her very long Simpson foot, in the middle below her nose is her hand.

We finally got a few things on the wall.

Colin's birthday grill from friends and family! He was so excited to receive it, not so excited to spend 3-4 hours putting it together.

36 weeks

Well the week sort of got away from us this time. Colin turned 32 and there was much to celebrate! Colin's mom and her friends hosted a baby shower in Michigan and we Skyped to join the party this week. It was such a nice treat to see everyone and hear everyone's love and support. We are feeling very blessed these days.

35 weeks

35 weeks and growing. Everything is starting to get a little harder and just when I thought there was no way I could get up more in the middle of the night to pee - well I did.

The dresser Colin stained and varnished. He did a great job!

The dresser and book shelf Colin stained.

Chev tuckered out after putting the glider together.

We changed our mind on the bedding many different times, we finally decided on this. We also purchased a new glider.

34 weeks

I was standing in the kitchen yesterday when Colin walked in and in shock said, "oh, smugglin' basket balls?!" I laughed to so hard. Yes I am bigger, yes I am starting to drop, and yes I am feeling it now. Who knows how long we really have now, 5, 6, 7 weeks. If anyone would like to guess the due date please chime in, many already have.
